IIIT Bangalore – A leading institute in the field of Information Technology

Located in lush green campus and surrounded by major IT giants, IIIT Bangalore (or International Institute of Information Technology) is one of India’s premier and leading information technology institute. Its campus was initially housed in ITPL tech park for a period of four years and subsequently moved to another tech park in Electonic city, which is one of India’s largest tech hubs housing more than 200 IT companies.

Founded in September 1999, IIIT Bangalore offers various Masters, Integrated, continuing education and research programmes. It has been ranked 56th in the Engineering category in the 2018 NIRF ranking.

IIIT Bangalore admissions notification is given around March for the following academic year intake, which is usually in August.

For the academic year 2018-19, following courses admissions application were invited:

  1. M.Tech CSE
  2. M.Tech ECE
  3. iM.Tech CSE & ECE
  4. Master of Science (Digital Society)
  5. MS by Research & Doctor of Philosophy

Placements at IIIT Bangalore has been 100% since its beginning in 1999. Recently, Paliwal Aditya Sanjay, a student of IIIT B was placed at Google’s AI research, and he was offered a yearly package of Rs 1.2 crore. This particular recruitment made headlines.

With IoT (Internet of Things), Blockchain, Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) like latest technologies becoming a way to futuristic innovations, it seems the need for specialized techies will always be in need.
